Egypt to acquire initially $2.75 billion tranche of IMF loan Tuesday

Egypt will get the 1st $2.75 billion tranche of its three-year, $12 billion Worldwide Monetary Fund loan up coming Tuesday, Deputy Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk advised Reuters on Tuesday.

In August, the IMF agreed in principle to grant Egypt the loan to assistance a government reform programme aimed at minimizing its price range deficit and balancing its currency market.

"We count on to acquire $2.75 billion on Tuesday through the IMF following board approval," Kouchouk explained.

The IMF board will discuss final approval in the programme on Friday. IMF managing director Christine Lagarde explained on Tuesday that she would advocate the board approve Egypt's request.
